What is Inching?
Inching is a system designed to help you develop a goal and organize your tasks toward it. It's designed to work with whatever tools you use to keep yourself organized.
Who is Inching designed for?
Inching was created to help academics organize the teaching, service, and scholarship they have to do for work. Because academics also have to love lives outside of their jobs, it can also be used by those outside of academia.
What is a goal?
A goal is who you become when you have achieved what you want to achieve
Why aren't they SMART Goals?
While the names are somewhat arbitrary, I call what most refer to as goals projects. Technically, your projects should be SMART: specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-Bound.
What's a PIE Goal?
I like to refer to these goals as PIE goals: Position-related, Investment, Engaging
What if I can't think of a goal?
The app is designed to help you create a goal. It asks you to reconsider what you think is a goal until you hit something that is more position than activity. Then, you can continue.
What is the difference between a goal and a task?
A goal is who you become. Tasks are the work you do to get there.
